Jeremy Zhu, violinist, chamber musician and educator, was recognized as "pushing creatively” (D&C NY); “his dedicated teaching inspired in many ways” (El Mercurio & Actividad Cultural Chile); "influenced...more than any other” (Democrat-Gazette AR); “a very creative, sensitive, thoughtful, and intelligent teacher and violinist”, and “a supportive colleague in any situation” (the Cleveland Quartet); “communicative in his playing as well as thoughtful and intelligent, his teaching creative and inspiring” (George Kern-Mozarteum, University Salzburg); “with a wide interest in music of all creative periods…superb…so distinguished” (Samuel Adler-Eastman, Juilliard).
 

 

Jeremy Zhu teaches students from youths to professionals. The combined career in teaching and performance has taken Mr. Zhu across the world from America to Asia and Europe. He has joined the music festivals, concert series and educational institutions, such as Euro Arts in cooperating with the Cologne University of Music and Dance, Summit-NY, IAM-Tuscany, Zodiac-Valdeblore, Geneva Concerts Inc, the LORE Society and so on. He has also served as a juror in competitions in USA and overseas. Mr. Zhu has collaborated with distinguished musicians from all over the world, including George Kern, Gerald Fauth, Shmuel Magen, Emanuel Gruber, Charles Castleman, Malcolm Bilson, Samuel Adler and many others.

Jeremy Zhu's students have been succeeded as professional concert artists, and major orchestra musicians. They have achieved the highest honors in major institutes, and won top prizes in international competitions. Their performance venues include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, National Taiwan Concert Hall, Beijing National Grand Theatre Concert Hall, and other major international stages, along with the White House. They have been featured and interviewed by major mass media in various countries in North and South America, Asia, and Europe.

Jeremy Zhu was a faculty member in violin, chamber music, and string ensembles at the ECMS-Eastman School of Music for decades. He also served as a mentor of the intern string instructors, conducted the violin teaching workshop-seminars, and gave teaching demonstrations for Eastman students of degree programs. He established the Curriculum, Examination/Jury Standards, and the Guidelines of Teaching/Study for ECMS-Eastman Pre-College Violin and Bowed String Studies. In addition, he served on the Senior Leadership Committee and as the Chair of the String Department. Moreover, he was a faculty member at Roberts Wesleyan College, and other university teaching posts.

Currently, he teaches for LORE Academy in central New Jersey.

Jeremy Zhu had received his master's degree in Violin Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. His teachers include John Celentano, Charles Castleman, Zvi Zeitlin, Carlo Novi (baroque violinist), Jean M. Barr, Malcolm Bilson, and members of the Cleveland Quartet. Subsequently, he had the privilege to be mentored by Donald Weilerstein.
